Hello to all you blog hoppers!!! We were so excited to be asked to design a block for Fat Quarter Shop's Mystery Block of the Month Program.
This year, Fat Quarter Shop is
using Avalon by Fig Tree Quilts for their annual Designer Mystery quilt. The
fabric is light, a little whimsical and grounded with a bit of navy, which
you’ll find peppered through the quilt. For a little treat, you will receive a
MINI Charm Pack of Avalon with the first month’s block! A taste of the fabric
before the club kicks into full gear. Each of the twelve sampler blocks is
designed by a different Moda designer and feature rows of baskets, stars,
flowers and houses.
Today you get to hear from the flowers – Bunny Hill, Me and My Sister, and us – Sweetwater. We were asked to tell you about our favorite floral arrangement we had received and show a picture. Uh-oh! I was not so sure I could complete this task. I could pretend that I get flowers like these all of the time –

But then I read on and it said that it could be your wedding bouquet- Whew! I did have one of those -

Pretty sad if I do say so myself!! I am pretty sure it is just going to look like sticks real soon! What should I do with it? (I am 99.999% ok 110% positive my daughter will not want to use it at her wedding in 20 or so years!) I know I should have taken better care of it and hung it upside down and put it in a safe place. But, I didn't . It sits in the storage closet and gets knocked over every once in a while. I guess I could get rid of it but I can't bring myself to do it. I guess I am just going to have to keep looking at the sad little thing! (It does bring back good memories though!)
Back to Quilting!
I absolutely love this image with all of the mystery blocks combined to make this flower! If you have never done a
block-of-the-month club before, this is a great one to start with. Each month
you’ll receive lots of fabric and lovely instructions to complete that month’s
block. The quilt is suited for everyone, from beginners to seasoned
quilters.
