We have been working on this idea for a while now! We thought that the beginning of the year was the perfect time to start. So here it is. We have been designing patterns for a loooooong time. Especially my mom- she’s been doing this for about 30 years. That’s a lot of patterns. I would guess somewhere around 500. Before the digital age, we just stacked them in big plastic bins. And then we kind of forget about them. But that is kind of silly, right? When we design a pattern, it is usually with a certain fabric collection in mind. However, that doesn’t mean that a new fabric collection wouldn’t be adorable with an older pattern. Or, it might be fun to alter an older pattern a little to make it modern.
Here’s the other part. I like a kit. And I like happy, pretty mail. What would be better than a box full of goodies to make several projects? So….we combined our love of kits with our new fabric and came up with Project Sweetwater. We are so excited about Project Sweetwater because it combines some of our favorite older pattern (as well as some brand spankin’ new ones!) with our latest fabric collections. Plus, we have added other fun items like buttons, labels, iron-on transfers and tags to make the kit extra cute.
We are planning a Project Sweetwater box for all of our new upcoming collections. But we are starting with First Crush! And with Valentine’s Day just over a month away, I would say that is perfect timing! Here is the only little catch. Because this is our first box, we have a very limited supply! So if you want one, I would suggest ordering now. After the first box goes out, we will have a better idea how many we need, and may even take pre-orders for our next Project Sweetwater box, featuring Volume II.
Here are all the details:
- The box features 6 projects. All of the patterns are included. The patterns are a mixture of older projects that we have made fresh in First Crush and some that are brand new. Here is the best part. The patterns are included for free! If you order the box of goodies, you get the patterns at no cost!
- Some of the projects feature fun things like iron-on transfers and labels. Those are in the box!
- All of the fabric to make the 6 projects is included.
Now for the fun part! Here are the projects.
My favorite is our new heart mini quilt.
You can use on of the blocks from that quilt to make one of the a mug mat or potholder!
We made these heart pockets a few years ago. But now we have Valentine fabric. Pefect!
You can make this bag to deliver something sweet to your favorite Valentine. The cute felt heart is included!
These new heart ornaments are adorable!
The cute iron-on labels make these perfect Valentine gift bags!
Here is our mini journal.
The stack of fat quarters to make everything!
And we even got in on the “adult coloring” trend. If you love to color (which I do!), these tags are a quick little project for you.
Everything come wrapped up in cute packaging. This is a great treat for yourself or a perfect gift for your sister, mom, best friend….
We are planning a Project Sweetwater box for each new fabric collection, but keep in mind the contents will vary, depending on the projects we decide to include. Also, we don’t have a concrete timetable when a new box will come out. We hope to get that ironed out in the near future. However, we are shipping this first box next week! Here are the exact contents of our first Project Sweetwater box, featuring “First Crush”:
- 16 First Crush Fat Quarter
- 1/2 yard canvas
- 6 patterns
- 5 buttons
- 6 gift tags with baker’s twine
- 2 yards twill ribbon
- Iron-on transfer words
- 4 iron-on labels
- crochet thread
- felt heart
- mini composition book
If you purchase each of the items separately, the retail value is $98. However, because we wanted the kit to be fun, creative and affordable, the box is $49.95. Keep in mind that the patterns come completely free with the kit, and the other items in the kit cost less than if purchased separately. However, if you just want the patterns, you can get them all for $19. We aren’t selling any of the items separately (for example, just the pattern and fabric to create the mini quilt). Everything is exclusive to the Project Sweetwater box.
For more information and to order the kit, click here. Remember, we have a limited supply of this first box!
Here are some other things I need to mention.
Don’t forget if you would like to sign up for our new embroidery quilt, Home For Christmas, the deadline is February 1st.
We also have 2 other quilt kits that you can pre-order from our Cookie Exchange collections.
This one is called Jingle.
And this one is “Christmas In The Village“.
Just like always, when you pre-order the quilt kits, you pay for 1/2 now and 1/2 when we ship in May, when we expect the fabric to be here. You can pre-order the quilt kits here. Just like the “Home For Christmas”, the deadline is February 1st.
One last thing! The winner of our pre-cut of The Cookie Exchange is:
Laurel, who wrote:
