We finally received our Stateside quilt from our quilter. When I say finally, it means we finally got the embroidery finished and the quilt pieced. Our quilter, Brian, is incredibly fast. We still haven’t gotten the binding on- but we needed to show the quilt because the deadline to preorder a kit is in just a few days.
The kit comes in either red or black. We debated for quite a while when deciding which colorway we were going to use to make the sample. Of course, the red would be brighter and more traditional. But the black is a different take on a patriotic quilt, and we may be more likely to keep the quilt out all year long. Here is a reminder of the two colorways in digital form.
So we debated. And debated. And finally went with…
I love how the prairie points are more prominent because everything else is black and cream. But…now I’m wishing to have both black and red. That’s probably not going to happen, but I would love to see it in red too. Anyway, here are more photos of Stateside. Keep in mind we don’t have the binding on yet, so it’s not quite finished. The quilting details are amazing. Thank you Brian!
Remember, the deadline is August 28- this Sunday. You can find the kit here. We are shipping the kits in January. We think you might be in the mood to dream about summer then! Speaking of deadlines, the deadline to preorder our Stars of Glory quilt kit is also Sunday. While we were taking photos of Stateside, we had the idea to stage a photo in the corn field behind my mom’s house. I’m not sure how we didn’t think of that before, but it was fun!
The other day I blogged about how Stars of Glory was an older pattern my mom had in the 90’s. Well, I think it was the 90’s. I found a copy of the pattern booklet it was in.
I still love that photo. So I took a similar one with the new version.
The Stars of Glory kit can be found here.
The next thing on our to-do list includes prepping the boxes for Project Sweetwater- The Treehouse Club. I’m thinking we will get the fabric a couple weeks later than we anticipated. The boxes will still ship in September, but we don’t know the exact date yet. It all just depends on the fabric. So cross your fingers it gets here soon!
